【効率1.65倍】東京電力パワーグリッド様が実証。都心の狭い現場を支える電動一輪車の機動力

[1.65 times more efficient] Demonstrated by TEPCO Power Grid. The mobility of electric unicycles supports narrow work sites in urban areas.

In collaboration with Tokyo Electric Power Company Power Grid, Inc., we conducted a demonstration experiment at an infrastructure construction site in an area of central Tokyo where utility poles are no longer present.

It became clear how electrification can have a positive impact on the entire process when transporting heavy loads on narrow roads where vehicles have difficulty accessing.

  • Work time reduced by 40% : Compared to a human-powered wheelbarrow, transportation efficiency improved by 1.65 times. By making it easier to transport soil and sand, subsequent processes such as backfilling work could be carried out earlier, contributing to speeding up the entire construction project.
  • Dramatically reduces the strain of starting : When carrying a heavy load, the electric assist provides powerful support when starting off, which requires the most effort. Even around tight corners and bends, you can maneuver smoothly without exerting unnecessary physical strength.
  • Brake function makes precision work easier : The brake function is useful for fine positioning adjustments, such as when pouring sand into a specific location. We have received feedback from workers on site that this has significantly reduced the burden of work in areas that are difficult to work in.

Infrastructure maintenance in congested urban areas. The E-cat kit2 supports efficient on-site operations with limited space and personnel.
