[Pear Farmers x DX] Dramatically Improve the Hard Labor of Harvesting! "E-cat kit2" Supports Harsh Transportation Work in Midsummer
Share
We conducted a joint demonstration experiment using our unicycle electrification kit, the E-cat kit2 , at Nashien Matabe in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture.
Harvesting, which involves moving heavy pears on carts across a vast site under the scorching heat of midsummer, is an extremely tough process. This experiment demonstrated the overwhelming benefits of electrification.
- Transport time reduced by 50% : Even when loaded with approximately 100 kg, the electric propulsion power allows transport to be completed in half the time compared to manual transport.
- Free from "initial weight" : As the harvest progresses and the load increases, the cart becomes heavier, but with an electric cart, it always starts smoothly with a constant force, dramatically reducing the strain on the legs and back.
- Compatible with regionally specific carts : The system has proven highly scalable, being able to be easily attached to the special transport carts (single-wheeled flatbed carts and three-wheeled carts) that are widely used by pear farmers in Yachiyo City.
We have received positive feedback, such as, "With this, I can look forward to harvesting in the middle of summer." From family-run farms to large-scale farms, this will be a powerful ally in times of labor shortage.
