[Development Case] Taisho Co., Ltd.'s challenge to electrify lime spreaders by using E-cat kit2 to reduce development costs by 70%
Share
Taisho Co., Ltd., an agricultural machinery manufacturer celebrating its 110th anniversary, has adopted our " E-cat kit2 " as the power source for their new electric lime spreader, the "Lime ZEST ZQ-70 Self-Propelled."
We will introduce the overwhelming development speed and cost benefits achieved by utilizing existing electric units rather than developing a power source from scratch.
- Development costs reduced by over 70% : By adopting the existing E-cat kit2 module, we were able to significantly reduce development costs and time compared to developing the powertrain from scratch in-house.
- A task that would take 10 people three days can now be completed by just one person : Work efficiency is dramatically improved compared to manual lime spreading. This is a lifesaver for farms struggling with labor shortages when it comes to disease prevention work such as bird flu.
- Procurement flexibility and customizability : The in-wheel motor, controller, and battery can be introduced as a unit. We made repeated improvements to meet Taisho's needs, helping to create a hit product that sold out within six months of its launch.
This has proven its effectiveness as a solution that dramatically lowers the hurdles of "power development" when it comes to electrifying our own products and developing new products.
