[Event Report] Exhibiting at JR Central's technology competition! "E-cat kit2" supports the harsh conditions of transportation on the railway
Share
At a technical skills competition held at JR Central's General Training Center, we exhibited an experience booth for an electric unicycle equipped with our " E-cat kit2 unicycle electrification kit."
We will report on how the professionals who support the safety of railway infrastructure experienced the technology's capabilities on actual tracks (on ballast).
-
Smooth movement even over ballast (crushed stone) : The robot can move with a 30kg load on unstable tracks. This is a very heavy load for a regular wheelbarrow, but the electric assist makes it surprisingly smooth to transport.
-
Contributing to digital transformation of railway maintenance work : The lightweight and compact E-cat kit2 can flexibly handle not only large-scale construction work at night, but also small-scale repair work carried out between train schedules.
-
A savior for narrow spaces where heavy machinery cannot enter : It attracted a lot of attention as the ideal solution for transporting materials and equipment in places where large machinery cannot enter, such as along embankments, steps, or along the sides of railway tracks with many slopes.
Portable and powerful, the electric unicycle opens up new possibilities in workplaces where rapid maintenance is required without stopping trains.
